The library has several online databases available for researching on current events. You can access these databases from the library page on Engage/Canvas, then choose from the searchable A-Z Databases list.

If you choose Current Events & Issues from the All Subjects dropdown list, you will see databases that you could click on to search for your topic, mostly news sites and Opposing Viewpoints,

Opposing Viewpoints is a great database to research issues, especially controversial ones. It contains different perspectives including PRO and CON articles on hundreds of current issues.

For instance, here are some of the Viewpoints (Pro/Con articles) from a search for Tariffs:

Another similar database that focuses on Pro/Con articles on major topics is Points of View Reference Source.

Other databases useful for finding info on current events include US Newsstream, and ProQuest Central. Just make sure you use the Limits to show articles with recent publication dates, so you do not get old, outdated  information.
