There are a few databases that you can access on the Berkeley College Library page that will provide similar company financial data and reports: Business Insights: Global, Mergent Online and Hoovers Company Profiles.

To use Business Insights to find financial information, follow these steps:

  • Go to the Library tab in the Blackboard.
  • Click on the yellow "Research/Explore" box and then click on "Databases"
  • Click on "A to Z List" at the top of the page. Select "B" from the alphabet and find “Business Insights".
  • Click on the database name to open it in a new window.
  • Enter your company name in the search bar and click “Search”. Let’s search for Macy’s.
  • When you find your company from the results list, click on “Financials” under the company heading. This will take you to the main Financials Fundamentals Analysis report for that company.

  • Notice in the screenshot above the many other features of the report that you can click on and explore:
    • Balance Sheet
    • Cash Flow
    • Ratios
    • Compare these factors with major competitors OR specific companies
    • Export any of this information to Excel
    • View a Financials Dashboard (towards the top) which will provide NASDAQ information and financial news.

To use Mergent Online to find financial information, follow these steps:

You can also find financial reports on the company’s website or by doing a Google search for “Company Name 10K report” or “Company Name Financial Report Year”.  When finding reports on Google, make sure that the URL of the website is directly from the company’s website.
