What is Multi-factor authentication (MFA)? Multi-factor authentication is the practice of using multiple forms, or factors of proof to authorize access to your account.  Berkeley College accounts will now require the following factors to authenticate:

  • Something you know (account password)
  • Something you have (DUO enrolled device)

The combination of these factors will provide enhanced security for your account by requiring a combination of both factors for access.

Device Requirements:

If you are unable to complete the DUO enrollment by September 1st, please reach out to the Berkeley College Helpdesk at 973-653-2180 or email HelpDesk@berkeleycollege.edu as soon as possible to discuss your options.

How to Download Duo MFA Enrollment?

Step One: Click the Duo MFA link you received in your Berkeley College e-mail

Click Start setup to begin enrolling your device.

Step Two: Choose Your Authentication Device Type. Select the type of device you'd like to enroll and click Continue. We recommend using a smartphone for the best experience, but you can also enroll a landline telephone or iOS/Android tablets.

Step Three: Type Your Phone Number

Step Four: Choose Platform

Step Five: Install Duo Mobile

You can download the Duo Mobile app from the Apple App Store for iPhones or from Google Play for Android phones.

After installing the Duo App app return to the enrollment window and click I have Duo Mobile installed.

Step Six: Activate Duo Mobile

You should see the Duo Mobile Activation QR code on your screen.

Go back to your Duo App on your device, step through the introduction screens and then tap Use a QR code to scan the square QR code.

The Continue button is clickable after you scan the code successfully.

There are Instructions with screenshot pics in the first link below, and a quick video showing how (and why) to use DUO to login.
