To find information about the company's history, start with the database Business Insight: Global, accessible via the library page on Engage (see Databases A-Z button).

Type in the name of the company in the search box and peruse the results list for your company.  If there's an entry for your company, use the link to open the company profile.  Once in the company profile, choose 'Company Histories' from the links on the left side of the company profile. This will lead to another link which opens up a historical document on your company. This can be downloaded and saved along with a citation in APA or MLA format.

If you cannot find your company from the Business Insight database, try the Mergent Online database (which also provides a history of both public and large private companies). After accessing Mergent Online from the databases page, type in the name of the company in the search box and look at the results list. The profile of the company should have a link at the top labeled 'History,' (which contains a timeline of historical events of the company).

In addition, check to see via a web search engine if the company has an official website. Once found, look on the company website for links referring labeled 'About' or 'History' (also check for the company's latest annual report, which also provides a concise history of the company).
