An ISBN, or "International Standard Book Number," is a unique identifier for books, or book-like materials. It is often found on the back of a book in the barcode.  E-Books have ISBN’s as well that can be found in the description area on an electronic book.

You can use an ISBN to find a specific edition of a book in the Library catalog, on retail websites like Amazon or any search engine.  If there is an advanced search feature, you can use the drop down menu to search by ISBN.
