You can find literary criticism on poetry, short stories, novels, and other types of literature in the following databases:

You can also find literary criticism in print through the Library Catalog

Please note: To access the library databases, you must be signed into Blackboard.

If you are looking for a poem instead of literary criticism, please see this FAQ.

  • To find a criticism on a particular work of literature, search for the title of the work and/or the name of the author.  For example, "The Raven" or "Amy Lowell".  (Note: Look in the abstracts of results for words like "criticism", "analysis", "essay", or "discussion" to be sure that you have retrieved criticism about the poem and not the text of the poem itself.)

  • You can also try a search using the term "literary criticism" and the title of the poem or name of the author.  For example, "literary criticism" AND "Amy Lowell".
