You can research a company's mergers and acquisitions using Berkeley College's library databases. Some helpful databases to start with are:

In these databases, you can enter the name of a company into the search box and then look for company's history or mergers & acquisitions.

You can also consult our Company Research libguide for more resources for researching companies. If you are having trouble, you can always ask a librarian

Here is a sample search done in each of the above mentioned databases. I am searching Verizon Communications, which is the result of a merger between Bell Atlantic and GTE. Verizon Communications has since acquired other companies.

In Mergent Online:

  • Go to the Library tab in the Blackboard.
  • Click on the yellow "Research/Explore" tab and then click on "Databases"
  • Click on "A to Z List" at the top of the page. Go to "M" for Mergent Online.
  • Click on the database name to open it in a new window.
  • Enter your company name in the search bar and click “Search”.  Let’s search for Verizon Communications.
