You can research a company's mergers and acquisitions using Berkeley College's library databases. Some helpful databases to start with are:

In these databases, you can enter the name of a company into the search box and then look for the company's history or mergers & acquisitions.

Here is a sample search done in each of the above mentioned databases.

In Business Insights:

  • Go to the Library tab in your Canvas course.
  • Click on the "A to Z Databases" button.
  • Click on "B" in the alphabet and find the link to "Business Insights."
  • Click on the database name to open it in a new window.
  • Enter your company's name in the search box and click “Search”, or browse for all companies.
  • When the Company Profile page opens, look for In-depth articles on the company's history and chronology.

In Nexis Uni:

  • Go to the Library tab in your Canvas course.
  • Click on the "A to Z Databases" button.
  • Click on "N" in the alphabet and find the link to "Nexis Uni".
  • Click on the Guided Search and choose Company.
  • Enter your company name in the "Search in all Company Information" box and click on the down arrow next wot..."And show me" and select Mergers and Acquisitions.
  • If there are too many results (like in our Amazon case) you can search within the results by typing an additional search term i.e. "mergers" in the search box (see below).
