The Digital Campus database (by Swank Media) of streaming videos now requires the plugin Widevine. You will not be able to view streaming videos on Digital Campus until this plugin is installed on your browser. The following information covers how to download this plugin for the 3 most popular browsers: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and Firefox.

 

Installing Widevine on Google Chrome:

There is no need to install Widevine on Google Chrome. Widevine is now an automatically updated component of Chrome. (Reference)

 

Installing Widevine on Internet Explorer (IE):

  1. Open IE and navigate to Digital Campus
  2. You will see a pop up that looks like this: 

     
  3. Click "Get Media Optimizer"
     
  4. Once the popup below appears, click "Run" 
    • ​Allow the plugin to download and install
       
  5. Once the plugin is finished installing, restart IE and navigate back to Digital Campus
     
  6. You should now be able to play the film

 

Installing Widevine for Firefox:

  1. The latest version of Firefox (45) will not accept the Widevine plug-in and will display these errors:



     
    • ​This is a known issue with Firefox. If you receive this message, follow the steps above to install Widevine on Internet Explorer or Google Chrome.
  2. If you're having problems downloading the plugins or would like to download the latest Widevine plugins, please visit Widevines website https://tools.google.com/dlpage/widevine.
